Dogtrot Cottage
The Dogtrot Cottage is the newest addition to Emma's Driftwood Farm!
This newly constructed 3-bedroom cottage is styled in the classic, coastal low-country design that was popular throughout the South in the 1800s. Before air conditioning and electricity, the dogtrot design was created with large, open breezeways and several windows on all sides (don't worry, the A/C and heat work great!). This allowed homeowners to take advantage of the cross breezes which optimized airflow throughout the home. The breezeway was often the coolest spot in the house and where their canine companion was likely most often found and the inspiration for the name.
Enjoy this historically styled accommodation with modern amenities and appliances! Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, with 2 bedrooms on one side and another bedroom/bathroom and kitchen + living room on the opposite. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to enjoy your time on the marsh.
